Dealing with the dangers of dating systems
Edith, 34: My girlfriends have been bored for a long time, but in the end I wanted to sign up for a dating site of my own volition. I looked around the internet a bit and was surprised at how many such sites there are and how easy they are to manage. The only confusion is a little that they need a lot of personal information. Is this okay?
ANSWER: No.. Dating sites explain this by saying that you need so much data to be able to recommend a suitable potential partner to you. But this is not true. They need no more than the year of birth, but by no means the date of birth. You don't even need your most frequently used email address, postal address, or job details. And if the system asks for your photo, your bank details or your credit card code, the smartest thing to do is to cancel your registration immediately and try to cut off all connections to this system. To find the right potential partner, you need subjective data: What do you like to do, how do you have fun, what do you read, do you like music, movies, do you like to dance, talk, vacation.
What to do BEFORE you sign up for a dating system:
1. Open a new email address that you will only use for this purpose. No element of the title should refer to your name, age, address of the resident Hebrew. Never enter your most frequently used email address.
2. Choose a name for yourself and use that name in your correspondence until you decide to reveal your identity to the correspondent.
3. Say you live in a big city. On the outskirts of every city, there are family-married and even village-style parts. However, people in the big city do not know each other and so you do not have to answer “control” questions to see if you know this or that person in your town.
After registration:
1. When writing, do not write about your family
2. Do not write specific information about your workplace
3. Do not write about your settlement, street, personal data.
Of course, if both you and the potential partner judge that they fit together, meet each other’s expectations, discuss the matter. From then on, honesty can be the foundation of a relationship.
